Rod-Blum-press-conference

(Dubuque, IA) With fewer than three months remaining until the Nov. 8 general election, Congressman Rod Blum (R-IA) leads his opponent, Monica Vernon, by seven points: 50% to 43% according to a new poll released today.

“These numbers show that the Washington, D.C. pundits are getting this race wrong, just like they did in 2014,” said Jeff Patch, Blum campaign spokesman. “Congressman Blum has worked hard to serve his constituents, and by a large margin they approve of the job he is doing on their behalf. Our campaign will take nothing for granted and will continue to work hard every day to spread our message of cleaning up D.C., reigniting the economy, and preserving Social Security and Medicare throughout the 20 counties of the First District.”

“Congressman Blum’s ballot success can be partially attributed to an exceptional 18 point positive job approval rating (44% approve, 26% disapprove),” added Brett Loyd, Director of Political Services for the Polling Co, Inc, who conducted the survey. “Also notable is Blum’s reaching of the 50% benchmark this early in the race. Congressman Blum is poised to earn reelection this fall in Iowa’s First District.”
