MARION, Iowa – State Rep. Ashley Hinson, Republican candidate for Congress in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District, has raised more than $335,000 in the first six weeks of her campaign, an Iowa record for a first-time GOP congressional candidate’s first quarter.  93.6% of her support came from donors in Iowa.

“I am humbled by the incredible support my campaign has received in only six short weeks,” Hinson said. “It’s clear that Iowans are ready for new leadership in Washington. In Congress, I’ll fight to end the bickering and dysfunction and create more opportunities for Iowa families.”

“Ashley’s record-breaking fundraising is a clear sign of her campaign’s momentum,” said Hinson consultant Annie Kelly Kuhle. “Ashley is working hard to gather the resources and support necessary to build a winning campaign.”

Hinson’s financial supporters include Ernst Victory Iowa PAC (Sen. Joni Ernst), Majority Committee PAC (Leader Kevin McCarthy), E-PAC (Rep. Elise Stefanik), CMR PAC (Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rodgers), Susan PAC (Rep. Susan Brooks), Cut the Bull PAC (Rep. Carol Miller) and VIEW PAC.

An Iowa native, Hinson is the first woman to represent Iowa House District 67, which covers Hiawatha, Robins, Cedar Rapids, and Marion. Prior to serving in the Iowa House, she was an award-winning reporter for KCRG-TV9 in Cedar Rapids. Hinson currently lives in Marion with her husband Matt and their two sons.
