State Senator Joni Ernst (R-Red Oak) released her second ad for her U.S. Senate campaign today entitled “Shot”.

Her new ad highlights Ernst’s credentials as a mom, farm girl, and Lt. Colonel as well as her focus on putting an end to wasteful spending in Washington and the need to repeal Bruce Braley’s Obamacare.

In announcing the release of the ad, Ernst stated, “I’m aiming to take our shared Iowa values to Washington, and once there I will target wasteful government spending, our $17.5 trillion debt, and Obamacare. In these final weeks leading up to the primary, I am campaigning to earn the confidence and support of Iowa Republicans from across our great state – I am asking them to give me a shot.“

“Shot” will begin airing on both broadcast and cable in key markets across Iowa.

This is a follow up to her “Squeal” ad. This ad is pure political genius.  Brilliant! Kudos to the Ernst campaign for putting this together and producing an ad that will likely garner some social media and earned media attention.  This has to be the best political ad I’ve seen not just in this race, but in any race this cycle.

Here’s the transcript of the ad.

VOICE OVER:
She’s not your typical candidate.
Conservative Joni Ernst.
Mom.
Farm girl.
And a Lieutenant Colonel who carries more than just lipstick in her purse.
Joni Ernst will take aim at wasteful spending.
And once she sets her sights on Obamacare…
Joni’s gonna unload.
And one more thing…
Joni doesn’t miss much.

JONI ERNST:
Give me a shot. I’m Joni Ernst and I approved this message.
